About the Class:

In Leela’s “Burlesque Basics: The Art of Strip Tease” workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of burlesque - from the moves to the history of this empowering form of entertainment. Leela will walk you through the must-know moves and terminology of burlesque and classic strip tease. To be prepared for this workshop, you’ll need to dress in layers! At the least, you will need a button-up shirt and bra and panty set. You’re welcome to go barefoot but if you want to wear shoes, simple and short heels suit this class well. Please bring anything else that you can easily take off, like stockings, long gloves, feather boas or fans, a corset, you name it! About Leela:

Leela has had a lifelong interest in exotic dance and started taking classes in 2018. She loves pole classes and performances, but wants to explore the burlesque and showgirl-style world. Leela has learned a lot about burlesque simply by studying the careers of today’s top entertainers (such as Frankie Fictitious, Bryona Ashly, and Vera Valentina, just to name a few). As of now you can find Leela in retro-style pinup magazines, though she hopes to be able to book some burlesque gigs in the future!
