75 min of Contemporary with Augustin Sunday May 25 at 1 PM and Saturday June 21 at 5:30 PM Class Passes are Accepted or $30 for the session Roseville Studio: 970 Sunrise Ave. Roseville, CA 95661 ~Class Description~ This will be a choreography-based contemporary static pole class that emphasizes dynamic movement, musicality, and our relationship to the floor. This is an INTERMEDIATE+ class! Sign up if you want to sweat and throw your body around a pole. Students should: 1) facility with hand grips (true, cup, twisted) 2) able to execute a pole pirouette 3) invert from the ground (or actively working toward) 4) shoulder mount 5) pole headstand/handstand (or actively working toward) Students are welcome to modify the choreography as needed, and are encouraged to make the movement their own. Recommended for students who have some experience with learning choreography. We will not be climbing the pole. Kneepads and sweatpants recommended; but wear whatever makes you comfortable ~Get to Know Augustin~ Augustin has a background in modern/contemporary dance and contact improvisation, and has been pole dancing since 2017. He draws from a variety of movement practices, and uses pole to play with tension/release, momentum/inertia, physical sensation, and internal experience. He is interested in experimental approaches, building and breaking patterns, and exploring how we can use our bodies to cultivate curiosity, honesty, and brief moments of freedom.
