Sacramento, CA 95815 ~Barefoot Pole Choreography Class Description (All Levels)~ In this workshop we will learn pole choreography that incorporates elements of dance styles such as contemporary, modern and lyrical. Learn how to harness the power of music and movement to tell a story and express emotions. Modification and guidance will be provided to suit your level.. ~Prerequisite~ Have taken a few beginner pole classes (can perform a dip spin, pirouette, and fan kick) No inversions will happen in this class No prior dance experience needed ~Recommended Clothing~ Layers are recommended for this class (i.e. shirt, pants, leggings, knee pads [optional], socks, etc). ~Get to Know Sherman~ Sherman Yu is a scientist during the day and a movement artist and athlete by night. He started his pole journey in 2020 and has a dance background in hip-hop, popping, and locking. His passion for pole art eventually led to discovering flying / aerial pole and Chinese pole in 2022. He began teaching in 2023 and is known for his dynamic pole style, barefoot pole choreography and flying pole. He has competed in Pole Sport Organization, and performed in various shows within the Bay area including the Vertical.show produced by Pink Puma. He wants to inspire others to try pole because pole is not limited to any specific gender, identity or background.
